Operette

In classical mythology, Thalia was the muse of comedy, but has since the 18th century come to symbolize all the performing arts. In her golden attire, she welcomes everyone who enters Malmö Opera and now she is at the centre of a colourful operetta gala.

An evening with Thalia is a loving tribute to the performing arts. A magnificent evening featuring a string of operetta classics performed by the orchestra, choir and soloists.

There will be contemporary pieces as well as flashbacks to Malmö’s glorious history as the “Swedish city of operettas,” where Swedish stars such as Gaby Stenberg, Per Grundén, Marianne Wesén, Marianne Mörck, Lars Humble and Jan Malmsjö shone in elegant and humorous performances.
